Leap with Us!

LEAP WITH US!

Thursday February 29th (Leap Day)

Doors open at 7:00pm

The Theatre Centre, 1115 Queen Street West, Tkaronto/Toronto

Please join us on this magical night to celebrate our work and reacquaint yourself with the world of Dreamwalker!

The evening will be an intimate and immersive experience starting with a transformation of the space just outside the doors of the main hall - it will feel like entering into a pond…

In the theatre we will be greeted by Danielle Denichaud, Philip Davis, Kelsi James, Isaiah Gilson, Michelle Silagy, Joshua Classic Roots DePerry and Andrea Nann (aka the Dreamwalker Conscious Bodies ensemble) flowing into connectivity in their circle.

The night will continue with live music (Andy Maize!), dance (Andrea and others!), sneak peaks at our new All of Our Dreaming website (photos by Sarah Chase and animations by Elysha Poirier!) and the premiere of two Dances on Film:

Dual Light: Leaving and Letting Go, autobiographical embodied stories of dancers Yuichiro Inoue and Naishi Wang by filmmaker Henry Mak, choreographer Andrea Nann, dramaturge Sarah Chase, creative contributor Brendan Wyatt, composer Joshua Van Tassel, lighting designer Noah Feaver, director of photography Eric Chan.

In a Landscape, exquisite choreography by Peggy Baker, set to music by John Cage, filmed and edited by Henry Mak with Eric Chan, performed by Andrea Nann, in designs by Noah Feaver and Cheryl Lalonde.

It is our intent that everyone feels invited, wanted, and welcomed to participate in our events and activities. We continue to do the work to listen, learn, unlearn, and relearn in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, in response to the Black Lives Matter Movement, and in recognition of all past and present atrocities, persecution and mistreatment of people based on their ethnicity, culture, place of origin, race, ancestry, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical appearance, and/or (dis)ability.   We stand in solidarity with all who are facing or have faced persecution or discrimination, and are working to create a supportive, safe and equitable world.

We are honoured to live, work and create in Toronto/Tkaronto on Dish With One Spoon Indigenous Territory and acknowledge the Land as Traditional Territory of many Nations including the Haudenosaunee, the Anishnabeg, the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Chippewa, and the Wendat Peoples.
