UPCOMING

Firehorse and Shadow
Dreamwalker Dance Company presents Toronto’s premiere of Firehorse and Shadow, a co-production with Citadel + Compagnie!
Combining elements of contemporary dance, shadow puppetry, animation, video and theatre, Firehorse and Shadow explores cosmology, family histories, relationships, Chinese medicine, wellness, food, and fate. The work illuminates embodied and often untold stories, centering on the lived experiences of Chinese Canadian women, while also delving into broader narratives of identity and heritage.
Firehorse and Shadow is co-created by choreographer/performer/writer Andrea Nann, shadow artist/performer Annie Katsura Rollins, director/dance-storyteller Sarah Chase, and dramaturge/visual artist Cindy Mochizuki, with music by Ben Grossman, animation by Elysha Poirier, and lighting by Echo Zhou (after Jennifer Lennon).
Dates & Times: June 5–8, 2025
Location: The Citadel, 304 Parliament St, Toronto, ON
Tickets: $35 Regular, $25 Artist/Student/Senior*
This is a piece we had planned to share back in March of 2020 – due to the pandemic, the work shifted and became an online offering, then later became a multi-year project-in-community in Vancouver. We are so excited to now share it back in Tkarón:to.

There will be tea, snacks, and a chance to connect in community – and dance dim sum!
Dates & Times: May 4th, 11:30am-12:30pm
Location: Left of Main (211 Keefer St, Vancouver)
Tickets: By Donation
More about the works:
JL²: Formation explores how the intersection of cultural upbringing, physical training, spiritual formation and geographic location impact the expression of the body.
田天 tiántiān is a new dance work featuring two generations of deeply realized Chinese Canadian dancers who move in unusual synchronized harmony. 田天 tiántiān is created and performed by Jia Yi (Judy) Luo and Andrea Nann in collaboration with choreographer Sarah Chase.
