Come out for an intimate night of dance and song at the Burdock, all in support of Build a Better Bloor Dufferin. Enjoy performances by Lori Cullen, Kurt Swinghammer, Ansley Simpson (Best New Artist – Indigenous Music Awards 2018), Andy Maize & Aaron Comeau (Skydiggers), Georgia Harmer (recently home from an international tour with Alessia Cara!), our very own dance artist Andrea Nann, —and a chance to sample the food and great brews of the Burdock. An afternoon inclusive movement workshop where we practice positive attitudes and share actions of kindness together. Saturday March 30 from 3:00pm - 4:30pm Grace Toronto Church, 383 Jarvis St Free Admission
Body Space Creation Place March 31 from 2:00 - 3:30 at Burlington Student Theatre April 20 from 4:00 - 5:30 at Burlington Performing Arts Centre A series of FREE wellness movement workshops facilitated by local artists Lisa Emmons, Shannon Kitchings, Mayumi Lashbrook, and Kate Lowe. These sessions are fun, relaxing, rejuvenating, and a chance to reboot. This workshop offers time to delight in the diverse creative approaches and energies of these four exceptional artists. The Welcome Project A project for newcomers to Canada where participants of all ages can feel safe as they cultivate awareness of their bodies and their physical gestures, with the goal of inviting trust and authentic connections to form between diverse individuals.
For the past 7 months, Dreamwalker has been leading workshops designed to offer
participants an embodied experience of core Canadian values, such as: kindness, mutual respect, reciprocity and belonging. On Thursday May 16th at 12:15pm, hundreds of workshop participants will gather at Nathan Phillips Square to ‘perform’ a 7-minute positive Public Action, #TheWelcomeGesture.
